Overall Function:

The role of Assembler involves the assembly of various parts to form subassemblies or complete articles of furniture and fixtures. In addition, they inspect the parts prior to assembly, as well as the finished products, to ensure product quality and consistency.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and measure parts prior to assembly.
  • Assemble metal file cabinet components.
  • Install hardware such as hinges or clasps
  • Ensure high quality finish by pay close attention to fit and function of various parts
  • Understand quality requirements and exhibit attention to detail.
  • Follow work orders and instructions from supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy workstation.
  • Additional related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Able to read and understand instructions.
  • High school diploma.
  • Able to communicate in English, verbal and written.
  • Ability to use standard hand and small power tools.
  • Experience with metal component assembly is an asset.
  • Organizational skills
  • Ability to read and understand instruction manuals and blueprints
  • Ability to work with a team and independently.
  • Ability to stand on feet during working shift hours.

Physical Job Demand:

Walking: May be required to perform 7 - 8 hours per shift.
