HR Manager
What is the project?
The Ontario Line South. A six-kilometre tunnel and associated tunnelling works from Exhibition to Don Yard portal (west of the Don River). The scope of the Project includes the design, construction, and handover of all tunnels (twin tube of 6 km each), 7 stations (turnkey for: 1 station at grade and 6 underground stations) and civil works.
What you will do:
Act as the main contact regarding HR topics with specific attention to the Labor relations requirements within the workforce.
The incumbent will drive a proactive workplace culture through communication and collaboration, management of the Talent team, and embody Janin Atlas and Ontario Transit Group’s core values. In addition, you will coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve business objectives, while ensuring compliance with employment legislations and regulations.
Concretely, your tasks will be:
- Lead grievance investigation and resolution, tracking reoccurring issues and providing lessons learned;
- Identify training and development needs and design a training plan for the managers of its client group;
- Work in partnership with managers on performance management, employee relations, resource allocation, and talent management and development;
- Collaborate with managers and senior leadership to develop effective talent strategies;
- Promote employee engagement initiatives and programs to foster a positive and productive work environment;
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify learning needs and create tailored development plans for employees;
- Manage external partnerships with equity partners, colleges, event management, job boards, and HR software vendors;
- Work in collaboration with Communications to organize project events throughout the calendar year.
Your skills:
- 15 years experience in a similar position with a stress on human relationships;
- Experience within the construction industry;
- Client focused and service orientated, with demonstrated leadership and ability to establish and maintain relationships with staff;
- Ability to use discretion and diplomacy;
- Strong communication and presentation skills with a high degree of professionalism;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to identify and implement effective and creative solutions
- Knowledge of BambooHR, LinkedIn Recruiter, HR EDMS (asset);
- Proficiency in French and English.
- Spanish (asset).
- Travel to locations across the Ontario Line South in downtown Toronto is required.
