THE OPPORTUNITY

Join us as our Cross Circle Initiatives Coordinator, a role that works across different areas of our operations to bring people, information and activities together.

This newly created unique opportunity is for someone who enjoys working across teams, building relationships, organizing complexity and helping good ideas move forward.  You will work alongside staff and managers across The Storefront to support projects and initiatives, connect related areas of work, coordinate follow-through and help teams organize information so they can learn from our work together.

The role is intentionally varied.  Your work will shift throughout the year based on our project, seasonal priorities, community activities and emerging opportunities.  Some days may involve coordinating a cross-team initiative or community event; others may involve bringing together information, preparing a project update, organizing a meeting or helping staff connect around a shared priority.

Deeply rooted in the Kingston-Galloway/Orton Park community of East Scarborough, for 25 years, The Storefront has been working with grassroots leaders, organizations and institutions to improve social, economic, and environmental conditions for the residents who live in East inner-suburban communities.

We are committed to continuing to foster a healthy and value-based work culture. This is what some of our staff had to say about the organizational culture at the East Scarborough Storefront:

  • "I'm encouraged to bring my whole self to work."
  • "My supervisor and team encourage me to take breaks and utilize my Personal Days to prevent burnout.”
  • "The Storefront prioritizes empathy and a people-first approach - this makes me feel like there's a safe space for honesty and openness at work."
  • “We have a diverse staff group and have persons from all walks of life.”
