Full-Time Contract (12 months)
The Odeiwin Foundation

About Odeiwin

The Odeiwin Foundation is an Indigenous-led, Indigenous-serving organization grounded in Indigenous ways of knowing, being, and doing. Our work supports Indigenous community wellbeing through cultural revitalization, land-based learning, leadership development, and organizational capacity-building.

Odeiwin delivers cultural and land-based programming through partnerships and external funding while intentionally strengthening internal systems to ensure long-term sustainability, accountability, and impact. Relationships, care, and responsibility to community guide all aspects of our work.

Position Overview

The Cultural Program Coordinator plays a central role in strengthening Odeiwin’s organizational capacity. This position supports the coordination, documentation, communication, evaluation, and internal systems that allow Odeiwin’s programs to be delivered sustainably through external partners and funding sources.

This role does not lead ceremonies or cultural instruction. Instead, it ensures that programs are well-organized, supported, tracked, and reported on — allowing Knowledge Keepers, facilitators, and leadership to focus on cultural integrity, teachings, and community relationships.

The Coordinator works closely with the Executive Director / Project Lead and supports multiple initiatives through Odeiwin Connect, Learn and Lead.

Key Responsibilities

1. Program Coordination & Operational Support

  • Translate Odeiwin’s program design framework into clear task lists, timelines, and workflows
  • Coordinate program setup processes, including:
    • Poster and communication drafts (for internal approval)
    • Event setup and registration platforms (e.g., Eventbrite)
    • Community outreach and social media coordination
  • Track registrations, participation, and internal milestones
  • Maintain program calendars, digital files, and documentation
  • Support participant communications and logistical coordination

2. Organizational Systems & Documentation

  • Develop and maintain internal workflows, templates, and checklists
  • Support administrative systems related to:
    • Program tracking
    • Communications
    • File organization and record-keeping
  • Improve consistency, clarity, and efficiency across programs

3. Evaluation, Reporting & Impact Tracking

  • Support the development and implementation of evaluation tools and data processes
  • Collect and organize participation data, stories, and internal metrics
  • Assist with funder and internal reporting (capacity-building focused)
  • Contribute to Odeiwin’s Organizational Impact Report
  • Support data-informed learning and sustainability planning

4. Partnership & Communication Support

  • Support partnership coordination and follow-ups
  • Assist with internal and external communications
  • Monitor and respond to community inquiries across social media platforms
  • Ensure documentation of partnerships and engagement activities
  • Support outreach processes aligned with Indigenous values and protocols

5. Leadership & Strategic Support

  • Work closely with the Executive Director / Project Lead
  • Support strategic planning documentation and coordination
  • Assist with sustainability planning and organizational readiness for growth

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience in program coordination, community engagement, or nonprofit operations
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Comfort working with evolving priorities and community-centered timelines
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities or Indigenous-led organizations (strong asset)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Digital Tools & Systems

The Cultural Program Coordinator will work with a variety of digital tools to support program coordination and communications. Familiarity with digital tools and systems akin to the following is a requirement

  • Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Calendar)
  • Event management platforms (e.g., Eventbrite)
  • Basic design tools (e.g., Canva or similar software)
  • Social media platforms and outreach tools (e.g., Facebook, Meta Business Suite)

We recognize that no one will be an expert in all tools. A willingness to learn, adapt, and ask questions is essential.

  • Works with humility, care, and accountability
  • Understands that relationships come before tasks
  • Is comfortable learning, adapting, and asking questions
  • Respects Indigenous knowledge systems, protocols, and leadership
