About Us

The “Eshkiniigjik Naandwechigegamig - A Place for Healing Our Youth" – “Aabiish Gaa Binjibaaying – Where Did We Come From?” is an Indigenous Youth Agency dedicated to providing programming and services to support Indigenous youth in North America. Our mission is to help them become responsible, participating citizens while leading their Indigenous communities.

Culture and Language Coordinator will work under the supervision of Cultural Manager and perform the following job duties:

  • Create social media series featuring language learning opportunities to create language awareness.
  • Begin recruitment of different language speakers to showcase our diverse nations 
  • Host in person and virtual and weekly language classes
  • Identifying program material to support language classes
  • Coordinate and plan cultural programming with other coordinator
  • Attend overnight(s) youth cultural retreat
  • Ensure confidentiality of privileged information.
  • Identifying policies and procedures of the program.
  • Adhere to the policies and procedures of the ENAGB Youth Program.
  • Other related duties as it relates to this position.

Qualifications 

  • Cultural programming of over 1 year.
  • Must have extensive knowledge of the Indigenous community (Inuit, Metis or First Nation).
  • Fluent in an indigenous language and knowledge of Indigenous cultures is an asset.
  • Able to work evenings and weekends.
  • Adequate energy and ability to meet the physical demands of the job.
  • A valid Standard First Aid and CPR.
  • A cleared Criminal Reference check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
  • A positive, fun-loving attitude.
  • The ability to work as a team and be self-motivated.

  • Salary: $30/hr
  • Hours: 37.5 hours/week 
  • Position Type: Full Time,Contract
  • Location: Toronto, ON
  • Contract Duration:  April 20, 2026 - June 30, 2026
