Demolition supervisor

We are hiring an Indigenous Site Supervisor to help lead the work on site from mobilization through to final site restoration.

This role is part of our commitment to Indigenous participation in our work. We want local knowledge, local leadership, and a real role on the job.

What you'll do

• Supervise daily site operations and crews, including subcontractors for abatement, soil disposal and vibration monitoring
• Run daily toolbox talks, site inspections and hazard assessments
• Enforce the Site-Specific Health & Safety Plan and Ontario OHSA and Construction Projects regulations
• Keep daily logs, attendance, equipment records and incident reports
• Coordinate with our Project Manager and Site Superintendent on schedule, progress and site issues
• Make sure site security, fencing, dust control and traffic control stay in place

What you bring

• 5+ years in demolition, excavation or general construction, with at least 2 years supervising crews
• Working at Heights, WHMIS and First Aid/CPR certificates (current), or willingness to get them before start
• Solid knowledge of Ontario health and safety requirements on construction sites
• Able to read site plans and follow a work plan
• Clear communicator who keeps records accurate and on time
• Valid Ontario driver's licence and reliable transportation

Nice to have

• Experience with designated substances (asbestos) or contaminated soil projects
• Experience on federal, municipal or other public sector sites
• Supervisor Health & Safety Awareness training
• Ties to First Nations, Métis or Inuit communities in the Muskoka region
