The “Eshkiniigjik Naandwechigegamig - A Place for Healing Our Youth" – “Aabiish Gaa Binjibaaying – Where Did We Come From?” is an Indigenous Youth Agency dedicated to providing programming and services to support Indigenous youth in North America. Our mission is to help them become responsible, participating citizens while leading their Indigenous communities.

Under the supervision of Toronto Director, the Executive Assistant will perform the below duties: 

  • Directly support the Toronto Director with day-to-day administrative, organizational and operational responsibilities.
  • Attend and support meetings as a diligent note-taker, with the ability to accurately capture important information during fast-paced conversations and meetings.
  • Document funding conversations, including commitments, requirements, deadlines and required follow-up.
  • Assist with drafting emails, meeting summaries, notes, correspondence and other documents.
  • Support documentation and record-keeping related to meetings, events, funding discussions and other important organizational activities.
  • Assist with booking and coordinating meetings, as well as communicating with staff, management, funders and external partners regarding scheduling.
  • Maintain the Toronto Director’s schedule and provide reminders regarding meetings, deadlines, commitments and outstanding follow-ups.
  • Act as a liaison between the Toronto Director and ENAGB staff when directed, including communicating information, requests and follow-up items
  • Work independently and receive approval from the Toronto Director when required
  • Maintain accurate financial records by assisting with basic administrative financial record-keeping.
  • Must be comfortable reading and understanding spreadsheets, including locating information, reviewing entries and maintaining basic tracking documents.
  • Create and edit organizational materials, presentations, posters, and other communication through Canva.
  • Support with work-related errands, pickups, deliveries, supplies and other operational needs.
  • Ensure confidentiality of privileged information.
  • Must be comfortable travelling between ENAGB locations and throughout Toronto/GTA when required.
  • Must be flexible and willing to support meetings, organizational events and other responsibilities that may occasionally fall outside routine administrative duties.
  • Adhere to all the policies and procedures of ENAGB. 
  • Perform other related duties as required.


To ensure the successful delivery of the program, we require the following qualifications:

  • Administration experience and/or relevant experience.
  • Over three years of experience working in an assistant capacity.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be highly organized and able to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have excellent attention to detail.
  • Must have experience with or a strong working knowledge of Canva.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Must have a valid Ontario G driver's licence.
  • Must have extensive knowledge of Indigenous (Inuit, Metis or First Nation) history/background.
  • Able to work evenings and weekends.
  • Able to travel to all of our ENAGB sites and throughout Toronto, with the understanding that this position involves rotating between locations according to our schedule.
  • A cleared Criminal Reference check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
  • A positive, fun-loving attitude.
  • The ability to work as a team and be self-motivated.


Employment Details

Salary: $25/per hour

Hours: 37.5 hours/week, Monday to Friday

Position Type: Full time, Contract

Location:  Toronto, ON

Contract Duration: 12 Months
