The “Eshkiniigjik Naandwechigegamig - A Place for Healing Our Youth" – “Aabiish Gaa Binjibaaying – Where Did We Come From?” is an Indigenous Youth Agency dedicated to providing programming and services to support Indigenous youth in North America.

At ENAGB, we are committed to empower Indigenous youth to become leaders in their communities. We believe in providing a supportive environment where youth can heal, grow, and lead their communities with strength, pride, and cultural integrity.
Under the supervision of Harm Reduction Manager, the Harm Reduction Outreach Peer Support Worker will be responsible for the following:
- Build trusting, supportive relationships with Indigenous youth accessing ENAGB programs.
- Provide one‑on‑one peer support rooted in harm reduction, cultural safety, and lived experience.
- Offer emotional support, active listening, and guidance to youth navigating substance use, housing instability, or crisis situations.
- Encourage youth participation in ENAGB programming and cultural activities.
- Provide safer drug use and safer sex supplies within ENAGB spaces and designated program areas.
- Offer overdose prevention education and basic harm reduction information in a peer‑friendly, accessible way.
- Support youth in understanding and using harm reduction tools such as naloxone.
- Assist with occasional kit‑making groups and harm reduction workshops.
- Participate in outreach activities within Toronto and surrounding areas.
- Assist with outreach and treatment of the target population as outlined by Health Canada, including supporting outreach efforts beyond the immediate service area when required (e.g., Hamilton, York Region, Peel Region, and other regions across Canada).
- Support youth in accessing services such as withdrawal management, treatment programs, mental health supports, and community resources.
- Help youth navigate systems and advocate for their needs when appropriate.
- Ensure confidentiality of privileged information.
- Adhere to ENAGB Youth Program policies and procedures.
- Ensure a team approach in all tasks.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
- Lived or living experience with substance use, harm reduction, homelessness, or street‑involvement (peer‑based experience is valued).
- Experience working with marginalized communities such as homeless or under-housed individuals, street-involved youth, psychiatric consumer/survivors, sex trade workers, and drug users.
- Ability to be open, non-judgmental and willing to learn.
- Must have extensive knowledge of the Indigenous community (Inuit, Metis or First Nation).
- Fluent in an Indigenous language and knowledge of Indigenous cultures is an asset.
- Adequate energy and ability to meet the physical, and mental demands of the job.
- A valid Standard First Aid and CPR.
- Valid Driver's license is optional and not a mandatory requirement.
- A positive, fun-loving attitude.
- The ability to work as a team and be self-motivated.
- Cleared Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSC) is mandatory.
- Positive attitude, self-motivation, and the ability to work effectively within a team.

- Salary: $25/hr
- Hours: 37.5 hours/week, Tuesday to Sunday or Monday to Friday
