About Us

The “Eshkiniigjik Naandwechigegamig - A Place for Healing Our Youth" – “Aabiish Gaa Binjibaaying – Where Did We Come From?” is an Indigenous Youth Agency dedicated to providing programming and services to support Indigenous youth in North America. Our mission is to help them become responsible, participating citizens while leading their Indigenous communities.

Land/Lodge Supervisor will work under the supervision of Cultural Manager and perform the following job duties:

  • Daily care of the lodge and lodge grounds
  • Clear cutting path from main entrance to the lodge area, while ensuring indigenous plants are transplanted
  • Clear any invasive species in the area
  • Harvest gardens in the area
  • Supervise the land/Lodge keeper assistant and Land/lodge keeper
  • Understand that the area will be utilized throughout the seasons including the winter, you will be required to ensure access to lodge is cleared 
  • Able to assist or conduct ceremonies
  • Keep updated on the events/ceremonies hosted at the site and to ensure everything is set for the event/ceremonies. 
  • Organization of the storage and tools 
  • Any other duties as it relates to the land at Humber River
  • Ensure a team approach
  • Adhere to all the policies and procedures of ENAGB. 

Qualifications 

  • Must be on the path of learning your culture and language
  • Must have extensive knowledge of Indigenous (Inuit, Metis or First Nation) history/background.
  • Fluent in an indigenous language and knowledge of Indigenous cultures is an asset
  • Able to work evenings and weekends.
  • Adequate energy and ability to meet the physical demands of the job.
  • Valid Standard First Aid and CPR.
  • A cleared Criminal Reference check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
  • A positive, fun-loving attitude
  • The ability to work as a team and be self-motivated.
  • A valid G license
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Comfortable with documentation and data entry systems

Employment Details

  • Salary: $25/hr
  • Hours: Monday to Friday between 9:00 AM - 8:00 PM, 37.5 hrs weekly
  • Position Type: Full-time, Contract
  • Location: Toronto, ON
  • Contract Duration:  July 2026 - March 31, 2027
