Position Duties:
To perform the duties set out as for a police constable. To preserve peace, protect property and be visible and engaged in the community; provide safety education and support to the community in crime prevention; public order; assist the victims of crime; investigate offences and provide emergency response to ensure the safety and security of our community and to fulfill our organizational values.

Minimum Requirements:
When applying for the position of police constable with York Regional Police, you must meet the following criteria to be considered in the selection process:
• Have no criminal record for which you have not received a pardon and be of good moral character and habits
• Be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada and at least 18 years-old
• Be physically and mentally able to perform the duties of the position
• Have proof of successful completion of four years of secondary school education or equivalency
• Possess valid standard or emergency first aid and CPR Level C certification, at minimum
• Possess a valid Ontario driver’s licence class G, at minimum
• Possess a valid OACP Certificate of Results including proof of meeting the vision and hearing standards as defined by the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP)
