Job Title:  Program Support Contract Position

Salary: $26/hour + travel stipend

Hours: 16-20 hrs/week (0.4 FTE - 0.5 FTE), hybrid, required in-person Tuesdays, Wednesdays and alternating Fridays, occasional evening or weekend hours 

Location: Call Auntie Clinic at SGMT - 525 Dundas St E, occasional work from home, community events around the GTA

Background:

Call Auntie is an urban Indigenous-led not-for-profit organization strengthening the health and wellbeing of the Toronto Indigenous Community by providing low barrier access to culturally safe health care, information, and referrals, to Indigenous Community Health Workers, Midwives, Doctors and Nurse Practitioners. With a strong focus on sexual and reproductive health, and wrap-around support, Call Auntie draws upon Indigenous extended kinship systems of support to promote self-determination and fiercely advocate for family integrity throughout all our programs.

The active partnerships that Call Auntie maintains provides us with clinical service providers, supplies, referral pathways, space, and everything that makes what we do possible! This includes but not limited to; Seventh Generation Midwives Toronto, Toronto Birth Centre, Positive Pregnancy Program (P3), Inner City Health Associates Indigenous Program, Auduzhe Mino Nesewinong. 

Role Description and Responsibilities:

The Program Support will assist with preparing for our weekly Call Auntie Clinic and programming activities. This includes support with food purchasing and preparation, child minding, and clean up. This role also includes supporting a social media platform, special projects, evaluation, and community outreach. 

• Learn hands-on about Call Auntie. This includes providing support in-person on programming days, assisting in administrative tasks, attending team meetings and other duties as assigned.
• Assist in purchasing food, materials and supplies for lunch and programming
• Meal preparation and kitchen clean up
• Child minding while parents visit with their health care provider or attend programming
• Creating outreach materials
• Developing and maintaining a social media presence 
• Contributing to on-going evaluation of programs 
• Setting up and attending community events and sharing Call Auntie resources and information 
• Work in collaboration with other organizations, team members, and possibly volunteers. 
• Gather information and resources by various means to support the general running of the clinic and special projects as assigned. 

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skillsExperience working with Indigenous people, including gender-diverse Indigenous community members (2SLGBTQIA) and urban relatives
• Balance of collaboration and independent work skills including self management, initiative and the ability to set work plans with minimal supervision or oversight
• Strong problem-solving skills and demonstrated resourcefulness and initiative
• Demonstrates Indigenous cultural competency in daily interactions
• Skills/knowledge in creating and maintaining a culturally safe space for Indigenous and all prioritized community members
• Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment
• Ability and willingness to travel around the city
• Administrative skills - filing, updating spreadsheet 
• Social media skills including knowledge of canva, social media posting, etc.
• Willing to complete a Vulnerable Sector Check
• Training or Post Secondary education in associated field is an asset (Social Work, Marketing, Health Promotion, etc) but not required
