STRABAG Civil is actively seeking a Project Coordinator for our Canadian division where he/she can utilize their extensive knowledge to contribute to the continued success and growth of the organization.
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Technical Manager the Project Engineer is mainly responsible for the development and implementation of electronic data gathering and management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides project analysis, data, and cost reports to management, including support for month-end reconciliations.
- Supports project Superintendent, Foremen, APMs, PMs , and field staff in managing projects, crews, and quality control processes.
- Tracks and reports on productivity, costs, and project progress, ensuring timely delivery of materials and equipment.
- Performs quantity take-offs, coordinates with designers, engineers, vendors, and suppliers, and integrates plans and schedules.
- Liaises with stakeholders, informs them about project schedules, and coordinates the preparation and submission of as-built drawings.
- Manages administrative documentation, maintains files and correspondence on active and completed projects, and submits invoicing.
- Communicates with customer technical support and provides technical support to field staff.
- Support collection of Organization Chart, Time Schedule, Manpower Histogram, Equipment List, Project Risk Assessment etc. during preparation.
- Support developing Work Breakdown Schedules in order to distribute the packages and other tasks to the project staff, subcontractors, etc.
- Follow all Quality Management Procedures, Health, Safety and Environmental Procedures and act and report immediately on non-compliances
- Liaise with the Client at all client-related communication for submission, RFIs, document up- or download, such as documentation, addenda, eGTxtension of time or variations;
- Check reports, attend meetings, motivate project team, identify project risks etc.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Proficient with MS Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook)
- Proficiency with CAD programs is considered an asset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-Motivated and flexible
- Ability to multi-task
- Basic understanding of construction and sub-construction contracts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a relevant field
- Minimum 3 years of work experience in Ontario (Toronto preferred)
- Experience with surface works – road works and utilities
- Heavy Civil Construction experience (preferred)
- Time management and organization skills
- Ability to work with multiple discipline projects
Employees will primarily be required to work in project Site Office.
