WHO YOU ARE

You posses demonstrated skills and have experience in research, stakeholder communications and engagement, and project coordination.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Public Programs Coordinator supports the delivery of the Equity Heritage Initiative as well as Heritage Toronto’s core programs through a mix of strategy, execution, and reporting. You also will be responsible for supporting the needs of Heritage Toronto as it relates to the planning, execution, and analysis of the 2025 Tours Program and events related to the 50th Anniversary of the Heritage Toronto Awards. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Support the Public Programs team in the evaluation and implementation of equitybased practices as relating to community partnerships
  • Support the Public Programs team in the creation and execution of equity-focused programming aligning with the 50th Anniversary of the Heritage Toronto Awards
  • Support the Heritage Toronto Tour season at various sites throughout the GTA
  • Assist in the development and execution of digital content via the Heritage Toronto website, social media handles, and other digital outlets
  • Communicate with partners and volunteers through email, virtual meetings (e.g. Zoom), phone, and in person • Draft copy for tour programs and marketing materials
  • Create and administer online registration for digital and in-person events • Coordinate volunteers and manage tour equipment
  • Other duties, as required

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

  • An enthusiasm for the mission of Heritage Toronto
  • Post-secondary degree, diploma or equivalent work experience in heritage, arts and culture, community engagement, or a related field.
  • Experience in project coordination
  • Strong research, analysis and reporting capabilities
  • High level of written and verbal communication
  • Excellent multitasking abilities and organization
  • Proficiency in utilizing a variety of digital and software packages, including Google Drive, Dropbox, Eventbrite, Slack, Microsoft Office Suite, and Wordpress
  • Experience working in the not-for-profit sector is an asset
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends as required

YOUR JOB

The Programs Equity Coordinator is a twelve-month, full-time (35 hours/week) contract position. The successful candidate will be working in a hybrid environment: working a minimum of two days a week in our offices at Historic St. Lawrence Hall, 157 King St. East, Toronto. The other three days will be conducted remotely, interacting with team members over Zoom, Slack, and other communication channels. You will work standard business hours, with occasional evenings and weekends required to support the Heritage Toronto Tours and Awards program, as well as agency meetings and events. In return for your skills and dedication, we offer:

  • Annual salary of $43,000
  • Annualized three weeks paid vacation 

The position has a May 5, 2025 start date and reports to the Manager, Public Programs.
