Program Summary:
The Mental Health and Justice Initiative (MHJI) supports individuals facing mental health and substance use challenges who are also involved with the justice system. Our goal is to help our clients achieve their life goals and live independently in the community while preventing future reoffense. Clients live with us at one of our permanent units scattered across the GTA or our ten-bed transitional high support housing program.
Dufferin High Support Housing is staffed eight to twelve hours per day. Residential support staff work with the clients and their community supports to develop a sense of community within the congregate setting, achieve their goals and find permanent housing.
Job Summary:
Through a team oriented professional approach, the position provides support to the client to increase their independence, dignity and self-respect, in a safe and secure environment by working within a team-based environment, you will support clients in achieving greater independence, dignity, and well-being within a safe and supportive housing setting.

Will be required to work in resident rooms and may be exposed to second-hand smoke.
Walk up and down stairs, physically able to assist client with daily living activities
10%-20% travel to different locations with transit and/or own vehicle, outdoor travel,
Lifting objects up to 50 lbs.
