About the Role

Maverick Gardner Information Technologies & Solutions Inc. (ITS) is seeking a Workforce Programs & Operations Coordinator (Entry-Level) to support Indigenous-led workforce initiatives delivered in partnership with Maverick Gardner Pathways North (MGPN).

This is a training-focused entry-level role designed to provide hands-on experience in workforce program coordination, stakeholder engagement, reporting, and operational support.

The successful candidate will be employed by Maverick Gardner ITS and seconded to support MGPN program delivery, gaining practical experience while working within a culturally safe, Indigenous-led environment.


Key Responsibilities

Program & Operations Coordination

  • Support coordination of workforce programs, cohorts, and schedules
  • Assist with planning webinars, training sessions, and meetings
  • Maintain program documentation and tracking tools
  • Support day-to-day administrative and operational activities

Stakeholder & Community Support

  • Assist with communication and coordination with Indigenous organizations, employers, and partners
  • Support outreach, engagement activities, and program-related events
  • Respond to inquiries and support relationship management under supervision

Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain spreadsheets and databases related to program participation and outcomes
  • Support preparation of reports for internal use, partners, and funders
  • Assist with data entry, file management, and documentation standards

Learning & Professional Development

  • Participate in structured on-the-job training and mentorship
  • Develop skills in program coordination, professional communication, and reporting
  • Apply training to real-world program delivery activities

Training & Supervision

This position includes structured mentorship and on-the-job training, including:

  • Workforce program coordination and delivery
  • Reporting and documentation practices
  • Digital collaboration and productivity tools
  • Indigenous workforce and economic development context

Supervision is provided by Maverick Gardner ITS, with functional guidance and mentorship from MGPN leadership.


Qualifications

Required

  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Comfort using basic digital tools (email, spreadsheets, document management)
  • Interest in workforce development, program coordination, or Indigenous economic development

Preferred (not required)

  • Experience supporting programs, events, or community initiatives
  • Familiarity with Indigenous organizations or community-based work
  • Experience with data tracking, reporting, or administrative coordination

No technical IT background is required.

Eligibility

Candidates must be registered with Miziwe Biik Aboriginal Employment and Training, work with an Employment Advisor, and reside within the GTA. Potential candidates must be First Nations, Inuit or Metis.
