The Opportunity

As part of the Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund (DWF) team, the Youth Ambassador Assistant offers a unique opportunity for a post-secondary student to get a hands-on, paid summer internship spanning a wide range of skills and experiences. DWF is seeking a self-motivated individual who will be responsible for supporting the education program through daily administrative tasks, data entry, and supporting the Youth Ambassador summer program.

This is a temporary summer student position reporting to the Director, Education. The successful candidate will join the DWF team from July 2025 to August 2025. As DWF continues to rapidly grow and expand, a willingness to be nimble, flexible, and accommodate ongoing change is necessary.

Your Responsibilities

  • Support the administration of the DWF Education team, including the annual Youth Ambassador Program
  • Assist with ongoing data integrity, ensuring mailing information for all educators and program participants is kept up-to-date
  • Coordinate outreach to support program participants
  • Work with Education team to organize engagement activities and initiatives
  • Help create and administer impact surveys
  • Act as a role model and leader to youth participants 
  • Support promotion (including social media, website, and blog) of the program 
  • Assist with administrative work to support the Education team and other DWF teams, as needed
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in post-secondary program in education, community development, administration, or other relevant field of study (or equivalency), or recent graduate
  • Minimum two (2) years of current related experience
  • High levels of accuracy, productivity and initiative are required
  • Demonstrated professionalism and an understanding of the importance of confidentiality
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional knowledge of MS Office, SharePoint, internet, and general office equipment
  • Current Police Record and Vulnerable Sector Check is required
