The “Eshkiniigjik Naandwechigegamig - A Place for Healing Our Youth" – “Aabiish Gaa Binjibaaying – Where Did We Come From?” – ENAGB is an Indigenous Youth Agency that provides programming and services to support our youth in North America to become responsible, participating citizens while leading our Indigenous community.
Under the direct supervision of Director of Toronto the Youth Program Manager will be responsible for the following:
- Manage and supervise the Youth Program Coordinators, Youth Program Coordinator Assistants and Recreational Coordinators at our East and West locations.
- Manage and supervise youth program drop in and programming at our east and west end locations in the evenings and possible weekends.
- Ensuring a culturally safe, trauma-informed approach that is responsive to the diverse communities of our Indigenous youth between the ages of 12-29 yrs.
- Supervise the preparations of calendars, posters and promote the drop in programming as recommended by the ENAGB Youth Council.
- Support Program planning and coordination.
- Support the onboarding and training of new staff.
- Ensure all youth accessing ENAGB register to the program.
- Entry of notes into our data based system.
- Attend the monthly Youth Council and Board meetings.
- Engaging directly with the youth and providing quality care.
- Seek and apply for future funding to support the growth of ENAGB.
- Monitor all budgets as it pertains to the youth department.
- Ensure confidentiality of privileged information.
- Ensuring a team approach.
- Adhere to the policies and procedures of the ENAGB Youth Program.
- Other related duties as it relates to this position.
To ensure the successful delivery of the program, we require the following qualifications:
- Bachelor in Social Work or Child & Youth Worker and/or relevant experience. Over two years of experience working with youth.
- Management and supervisory experience.
- Extensive knowledge of the Indigenous (Inuit, Metis or First Nation) community.
- Able to understand budgets and funding requirements.
- Fluent in an Indigenous language and knowledge of Indigenous cultures is an asset.
- Able to work evenings and weekends, when required.
- Adequate energy and ability to meet the physic
- A valid Standard First Aid and CPR.
- A cleared Criminal Reference check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
- A positive, fun-loving attitude.
- The ability to work as a team and be self-motivated.
