310T Mechanic

Mechanics at Powerline Plus Ltd. inspect, diagnose, repair, adjust, overhaul and service mechanical and electrical components. Mechanical duties operated on daily basis include the following, trucks (F150, bucket trucks, hydrovac trucks), welding machines, forklifts, compressors, small engines and trailers. Mechanics participate actively and maintain ongoing relations with co-workers, various Departmental Managers and the Fleet Manager.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Completion of Secondary School
• Completion of a Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities approved apprenticeship program – 310T / 310S
• A minimum of five (5) years of work experience in the trade
• Valid ‘G’ Driver’s License with clean driver’s abstract required; Class DZ or better considered an asset
• Ability to operate manual transmission required
• Physically capable of meeting the job requirements; ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds, ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and safely climb a ladder.

• Front-end components
• Engine repair and overhaul
• Diesel engine diagnostics
• Steering and suspension
• Air brake diagnostics and repair
• Ignition and electrical systems
• Automatic transmission
• Standard transmission
• AC, cooling and heating systems
• Drive train components
• Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's specifications
• Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance
• Welding; electrical and gas

• Trailer repair
• Excavation equipment repairs
• Crane and aerial devices
• Service calls
