Job Summary
The Coordinator, Corporate Partnerships, under the direction of the Senior Officer, Corporate and Strategic Partnerships, is responsible for the coordination and operation of the Team Experience Day (TED) program while supporting strategic partner relations and events that generate critical revenue and in-kind support to advance the programs and activities of Toronto Humane Society. The primary responsibilities of this position involves coordination of all facets of TED visits including stewardship and cultivation of partner agencies, scheduling and hosting TED visits, securing TED event donations, recruiting and coordinating TED volunteers, and post-event stewardship. This role will also support the hosting of the annual Humane Open Golf Tournament and related partner sponsorship activities.
As a member of the development team, this role will help position Toronto Humane Society as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to corporate donors and support the needs of corporate and strategic partnership relations as needed.
Job Duties
- Help meet or exceed annual TED fundraising goals by coordinating and executing TED events.
- Ensure the success of Toronto Humane Society Team Experience Days and coordinating all related activities including but not limited to, event scheduling, volunteer coordination, event execution, invoicing and donation processing, and post-event stewardship and cultivation.
- Work collaboratively with the Senior Officer, Corporate and Strategic Partnerships to identify improvements to the TED program.
- Identify and qualify potential company prospects from TED events.
- Assist in coordination of the annual Humane Open Golf Tournament.
- Support the identification, qualification, and solicitation of corporate partners to secure critical support for program activities.
- Develop and promote relationships with individuals and businesses to further grow corporate relations.
- Ensure the delivery and provision of top-quality customer service to donors, event attendees and other members of the public.
- Maintain and administer gifts and constituent records associated with TED events.
- Present a positive and professional image of the organization when interacting with employees, donors, visitors, and other organizational participants.
- Responsible for the supervision of allocated volunteers, including scheduling, reviewing work, training, and assisting with personnel action such as onboarding and conducting performance reviews.
- Foster, promote, support and drive inclusion and influence others to promote, embrace and progress Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at Toronto Humane Society.
- Foster an environment of teamwork and cooperation.
- Cooperate with other staff members to ensure efficiency of care and support for donors.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality in all interactions.
- Attend and participate in workshops, seminars, and in-service training to further personal education, skills, and training as required.
- Work in compliance with the provisions of the Ontario Health and Safety Act and its regulations, including understanding and adhering to the requirements of the Health and Safety Manual, and any other rules and regulations established by Toronto Humane Society.
- Other Duties as required in the day-to-day operation of the organization.
Job Requirements
- Post-secondary education in fundraising or a related discipline.
- Minimum 1 year’s experience in events management or related environment.
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
- Strong organizational, project management and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands.
- Meticulous records maintenance skills and strong understanding of data integrity.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in emotionally charged situations.
- Ability to identify the source of problems and identify and implement creative solutions.
- Experience in an animal welfare environment an asset.
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times in a diverse environment.
- Ability to adapt to new technology.
- Knowledge of Raisers Edge, Raisers Edge NXT, and FundraiseUp an asset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
Work Conditions
- Flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Attendance and participation in training.
- Some opportunity to work remotely, most aspects of role are required to be in person.
- Operation of computer and peripherals.
- Interaction with employees, management, donors, volunteers, clients, the public.
- May be required to work long hours.
- Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, odors, wetness, noise extremes, hazardous materials, toxic agents, animal/wildlife attacks, animal bites, disease, pathogenic substances, or rude/irate customers.
