Full-Time Position 37.5 hours

Location: Mississauga (On-Site) 5 days a week

Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and professional Licensed Optician to join our optical team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for eye care and customer service, with comprehensive knowledge of eyewear products, lens technology, and optical fittings. As a Licensed Optician, you will be responsible for assisting patients in selecting appropriate eyewear, ensuring accurate measurements, and providing exceptional service to enhance overall patient satisfaction. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining high standards of optical care and operational efficiency within our practice.

Duties

• Assist patients in selecting eyewear that suits their prescription needs, lifestyle, and personal preferences.
• Conduct precise measurements of pupillary distance and frame fitting to ensure optimal vision correction.
• Educate patients on lens options, coatings, and frame materials to help them make informed decisions.
• Verify prescriptions and ensure proper lens ordering and adjustments are completed accurately.
• Maintain detailed patient records in compliance with privacy regulations and practice standards.
• Manage inventory of frames, lenses, and optical accessories to ensure availability and organization.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing questions, resolving issues, and fostering a welcoming environment.
• Collaborate with optometrists and other team members to deliver comprehensive eye care services.

Experience & Education

• Valid licensure as an Optician with current certification or registration.
• Completion of a two- or three-year college program in ophthalmic dispensing or optical sciences is required.
• Minimum 3 years of working experience as an Optician in a retail setting.
• Strong knowledge of optical products, lens technology, frame styles, and fitting techniques.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly.
• Demonstrated ability to operate optical measurement tools and computer software related to eyewear management.
• Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Prior experience with inventory management systems is preferred but not mandatory.
