This role is made possible from the Miziwe Biik Aboriginal Employment and Training Program. Participants must be registered with Miziwe Biik and have prior approval before commencing this internship.
Position Overview:
The Operations & Outreach Intern will have an opportunity to work alongside the People & Operations Advisor and the Community Outreach Lead, focusing on various tasks that ensure the smooth execution of Hackergal's operational and outreach activities. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual interested in gaining hands-on experience in operations, outreach, and project management within a dynamic non-profit environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Support:
Operations/Administrative:
Coordinate schedules and coordinate internal processes and calendar invites.
Document program logistics and maintain organized records.
Track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and assist in reporting.
Support/review people related operations (system entries, anniversary reminders, etc.)
Business Coordination:
Organize team meetings and support project management for events, including the Hackergal Hackathon.
Collaborate with team members to support projects related to program delivery or curriculum development
Support administrative needs and provide support to Hackergal team members (i.e. scheduling meetings, preparing swag bags, mailing list etc.)
Internal Team Initiatives
Generate ideas and create a budget proposal for team events
Research catering and event venues
Coordinate tasks around Special Days (staff appreciation, etc.)
Community Outreach
Community-centred Program Evaluation:
Assist with a program evaluation related to Community partnerships, focused on tracking learner and facilitator outcomes and testimonials
Gather data points and feedback from participants iSupport the collection of key metrics such as skill development and engagement as well as upkeep spreadsheets to track data
With support, contact community partners and gather insights and feedback.
Data Management:
Create surveys and compile reports based on collected data.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Research and outreach to new stakeholders/organizations to explore partnerships and collaborations
Liaison between internal and external community and educational partners related to program coordination and delivery

2-3 days per week in office, 2-3 days home based opportunity. Opportunity to work from the DMZ, Toronto's tech incubator
The schedule is generally 9-5, however some flexible scheduling is requested for some weekend/evening work to attend events (i.e. with program events)

Some travel offsite travel required
