Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to oversee multiple projects for our organization. As Senior Project Manager, you will understand the entire scope of the project or projects, down to the smallest details. You will act as the internal point of contact for any question related to timelines, budgets, or other key elements of the project. As Senior Project Manager you will ensure projects stay on budget and finish by their expected deadline. This will include meeting with internal and external stakeholders to review project plans, coordinating with different teams and departments regarding timelines, and presenting the status of projects you are responsible for to senior executives. As part of the project management team, you will also be responsible for contributing to and collaborating in the development of best practices aligned to strong understanding of project management- especially within technical environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Taking ownership of multiple concurrent projects, serving as key point of contact between stakeholders, internal teams and senior leadership.

· Defining project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business objectives in collaboration with the senior leadership team and internal stakeholders

  • Establishing effective and appropriate project governance for a project
  • Producing and maintaining a project plan while conducting the project within constraints of the framework used by different delivery teams
  • Developing full-scale project plans and associated communications documents
  • Planning and scheduling project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools
  • Estimating the resources and participants required to achieve project goals
  • Ensuring proper financial management of the project
  • Ensuring proper risk management by documenting all risks and employing an effective mitigation strategy
  • Within the PMO and as part of the PM team, support the creation of tailored PM best practices aligned to industry specific projects.

Required Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience in technical program and project management (IT infrastructure, Cellular or RF experience an asset)
  • Project Management Certification (PMP) required with a solid understanding of waterfall (agile methodologies an asset)
  • Strong proficiency and knowledge of project management methodologies and tools (MS-Project or equivalent preferred)
  • Ability to implement and support complex technical hardware and/or software solutions
  • Excellent organization and presentation skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent vendor management and negotiation skills
  • Ability to influence and foster an environment of shared accountability
  • Ability to collaborate with people, processes, and systems
  • Willingness and ability to learn new technologies quickly and apply the knowledge to support projects with insight into identifying potential risks
  • Ability to be flexible and highly adaptive in a fast-paced environment
  • Valid Driver’s License
