Powerline Plus Ltd. is looking for a self-directed, highly motivated HR professional with excellent communication skills. The HR Generalist will be responsible for all aspects of human resources including recruitment and onboarding, facilitating orientation, HR systems management, attendance management, onboarding and offboarding, payroll processes, training and development., policy review, development and maintenance.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Completion of a post-secondary degree in Human Resources, or related discipline
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience as a Human Resources Specialist, Human Resources Generalist or Human Resources Generalist role ideally within a union environment
- Advanced knowledge of the Employment Standards Act (ESA) and the Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC) and other applicable legislation
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Payroll software, JD Edwards experience an asset
- Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) or Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) considered an immense asset
- High degree of confidentiality, discretion and judgment required
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing human resources policies and procedures in accordance with the Employment Standards Act (ESA) and the Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC) and other relevant legislation.
- Liaise with the Payroll Department regarding employee compensation, absences and vacation allotment issues
- Employee personnel data entry and compensation entry into payroll system
- Creating employee files in payroll system and Internal HR system
- Ensure that all employee files have the most current information and training documentation by ensuring all employee databases and spreadsheets are cohesive
- Plan, develop, implement and evaluate human resources and labour relations strategies including policies, programs and procedures to address companies HR requirements
- Maintain programs and maintain HR information and related records systems
- Assist talent acquisitions in full cycle recruitment, recruit qualified candidates in accordance with applicable legislative requirements (OHRC, AODA etc..) via job postings on various internal and external boards
- Screen applicants by carefully matching experience, education and qualifications to the job criteria, prescreening and assisting with the interview process
- Facilitating new worker orientation sessions
- Support departmental managers with various projects and assignments on an as needed basis
