The “Eshkiniigjik Naandwechigegamig - A Place for Healing Our Youth" – “Aabiish Gaa Binjibaaying – Where Did We Come From?” is an Indigenous Youth Agency dedicated to providing programming and services to support Indigenous youth in North America. Our mission is to help them become responsible, participating citizens while leading their Indigenous communities.

Marketing and Events Manager will work under the supervision of Director of Toronto and perform the following job duties:

  • Plan ENAGB Pow Wow/Cultural Festival, scheduled for May 23–24, 2026. 
  • Work collaboratively with the  Powwow Coordinator Trainee, Powwow Sub-Committee, Toronto Youth Council, and Board of Directors.
  • Coordinate Teachings, Performances, and Ceremonies
  • Work alongside and manage volunteers, vendors, artists, drummers and singers. 
  • Secure permits, manage schedules, and coordinate transportation.
  • Assist in developing and executing marketing campaigns that will support the promotion of the Powwow. 
  • Navigate Social media platforms and other communication tools.
  • Identify and coordinate potential sponsors and partners, assist in securing funding and donations for the event. 
  • Able to manage event budgets, tracking expenses, and reporting financials. 
  • Adhere to the policies and procedures of the ENAGB Indigenous Youth Agency 
  • Ensure confidentiality of privileged information. 
  • Oversee all aspects of the event setup, execution, and breakdown.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly and efficiently. 
  • Ability to work in an outdoor environment. 
  • Work flexible hours as related to job performance
  • Ensure a team approach.  
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with various stakeholders, community members, vendors, sponsors, and volunteers. 
  • Ensuring a culturally safe, trauma-informed approach that is responsive to the diverse needs of Indigenous Community members. 
  • Other related duties to this position. 

Qualifications 

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in event planning, festival coordination, or project management, ideally with experience in cultural events, community-based projects, or Indigenous initiatives.
  • Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Arts Administration, Indigenous Studies, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Management Experience of at least 1 year.
  • Active Participant within the powwow circuit, with extensive knowledge and understanding of ceremony protocol. 
  • Strong knowledge of Indigenous culture, traditions, and protocols, particularly Pow Wow traditions. Familiarity with Toronto’s Indigenous communities is an asset.
  • Previous experience working with sponsors, vendors, and artists in the context of festivals or large public events is an asset.
  • Fluenency in an Indigenous language is an asset. 
  • Adequate energy and ability to meet the physical, and mental demands of the position. 
  • Valid Driver's License is a mandatory requirement
  • A positive, fun-loving attitude.  
  • Ability to work as a team and be self-motivated. 
  • Cleared Criminal Reference Check (CPIC) and Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSC) is mandatory. 

Employment Details

Salary: $78,000/per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours/week

Position Type: Full-time, Contract

Location: Toronto, ON

Contract Duration: August 7, 2025 - May 29, 2026
